Ground beef and veggies, 2 simple ways to prepare – Sunday, February 11, 2018

Today my meal prep includes ground beef, carrots, green beans, lots of onion and corn.

The idea here is to prepare 3 lb of ground beef, split in two, and then use two different sauces: Marinara Tomato Sauce and Teriaky Sauce.  One pot for Monday and the other one for Tuesday.

I begin by browning the ground beef with the onions.  It takes a while since ground beef usually releases a lot of water.


Next, I add green beans, carrots and 2 cups of water.  Once it starts boiling, lower the heat just a little and cook for 10 minutes or so.


Add the corn, stir, turn off the heat.


Split in two pots:


In the blue pot, I add the Marinara sauce.

In the black pot, I add the Teriaky sauce plus 1 cup of water.

Close both pot, let it all cool down and put it in the fridge.  Monday we will eat the Marinara sauce with pasta and Tuesday we will eat the Teriaky sauce with rice.

The idea here is to add water to it tomorrow and use Barilla Pronto (no pan, no strainer) penne pasta.  I never used this pasta before, so I am wondering.  Apparently you cook the pasta in the water, until the water is all absorbed.  It asks 3 cups of water for each box.
